Q&A

What do you love about Netball?

I love that that there are so many diverse athletes that are in my sport. It doesn't matter your size or fitness level, if you have the skill set and are willing to work hard then you can make it. In saying that, it’s so competitive and fierce that it takes a certain type of woman to make it to the top. The athleticism I see from my team mates amazes me on a daily basis.

What are your top three beauty essentials off the court?

Sukin facial moisturiser, Bondi Sands tanning mousse, Maybelline mascara.

Who is the person who has had the biggest impact on helping you achieve your goals?

Throughout my career I have had some amazing coaches and trainers which have all impacted me. But Norma Plummer, she put confidence in my ability at a young age after missing out on the 21s Australian team, which I thought was the end of my career. She was right though, it was only the beginning.

Do you have a ritual you go through before competing?

Most of the girls arrive to the courts with their playing dress on, that is the last thing I put on just before we get called onto the court.

Who do you feel is the team to beat in 2018?

Sunshine Coast Lightning, the reigning champs.

Q&A

Who is the person who has had the biggest impact on helping you achieve your goals so far?

My partner, he is always pushing me to be a better person and is very supportive of my career and the goals I want to achieve.

Is there something that you have learnt last season that will improve your performance this year?

I learnt that you play best when you play your own game and play to your strengths.

Do you have a quirk or ritual you go through before competing?

I need to eat something sweet, and I need to watch cartoons

 Q&A

What do you love about your sport?

I love the connections you make with people you might not normally ever socialise with, you are forced to communicate to, tolerate and embrace different personalities from your own. I love that our game forces you to be a selfless athlete, you must pass the ball or it will be a turnover! It really takes a full team to win and I think that is just one of the many life messages you can learn from playing netball!

Who's your inspiration at the moment?

It was my ex-teammate, Renae Ingles, who returned to netball at the professional level only 7 months after giving birth (TO TWINS!!) and had to move away from her husband! Incredible. She would come to training on 3-4 hours of broken sleep and would give 110%, she is the epitome of a professional athlete.

Do you have a quirk or ritual you go through before competing?

I like to have a good breakfast with eggs and avocado!

 Q&A

If you weren't playing netball what would be your second choice?

I grew up playing a lot of team sports from basketball and AFL or even something like tennis.

Who is the person how has had the biggest impact on helping you achieve your goals so far?

Jo Franklin who is a lady back in my hometown who was the coach of the country representative teams. She encouraged me to peruse my dream of netball and had many contacts in Adelaide I was able to work with.

Who is the first person who comes to mind when you want to share your wins?

My teammates no matter which team I am in, they are like family and I want to share the wins with them, then my parents.
