Top 5 tips for being healthy this autumn

1. Fill your diet with immune boosting foods

This means foods high in vitamin C like capsicum, broccoli, kiwi and strawberries; foods high in zinc like seafood, red meat and green leafy veggies; and foods high in protein like red meat, chicken, dairy and eggs.

2. Buy in-season fruits and vegetables for an antioxidant boost

In autumn include fruits and vegetables like apples, grapes, figs, peaches, melons, eggplant, beetroot, asparagus and beans,

3. Cook in bulk and freeze

Autumn and winter warming meals like zucchini slices, spinach pies and soups freeze well and provide an easy option for healthy lunches or dinners.

4. Carry a drink bottle with you

It is often hard to drink enough in the cooler months because we don’t feel as thirsty, so make sure you have a water bottle on hand to sip on regularly throughout the day.

5. Get moving
Before the weather cools down, get into a good exercise routine. It can be hard to find the motivation on a wintery morning but if you are committed and in a routine, it is much easier to stay on track.
