Healthy Festive Treats 

 

Christmas is all about enjoying delicious treats. You can still enjoy treats but I have recreated some of our favourite Christmas recipes so they are kinder to your hips.These recipes are made with healthy ingredients and Natures Way superfood powders that have so many added health benefits, which will help you to feel your best over the busy Christmas period.

 Cranberries Chia Snowballs

 

  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 2 tablespoons Natures Way chia seeds 
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup cranberries
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/3 cup Natures Way cacao powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons rice malt syrup 

 

Cranberry Chia Snowballs

 

METHOD

1. Scrape the inside from vanilla bean. Place chia seeds and milk in a bowl. 
2. Mix in a food processor or blender almonds, walnuts and 1/4 cup coconut until finely chopped. Transfer to a large bowl.
3. Mix in cacao, cinnamon and vanilla seeds. . Add peanut butter or almond butter, rice malt syrup and chia mixture. 
4. Mix an extra 2 teaspoons of rice malt syrup to bind mixture, if needed. Mix in the cranberries.
5. Place remaining coconut in a bowl.
6. Using 1 tablespoon of mixture, press and roll mixture together to form a ball. 
7. Roll ball in coconut to lightly coat the outside. 
8. Place the bliss ball on a large baking tray lined with baking paper. 
9. Repeat with the rest of the mixture and coconut. 

 

NOTE

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. 
  • You can also freeze for up to a month too

 

 


 

 

Gingerbread Man Smoothie

Serves 2 


1 tablesppon ginger powder 
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash of Vanilla extract (organic) 
1 tablespoon of Natures Way Maca Powder 
250mls almond milk
40g oats
1 frozen banana 
1 tablespoon Natures Way Chia seeds 
1 tbsp molasses 


METHOD
1. Place all ingredients in a blender 
2. Blend ingredients until smooth and creamy
3. Serve immediately

Gingerbread Man Smoothie

 


 

Reindeer Hay Stacks 


3 organic wheat bix 
1 tablespoon Natures Way Chia Seeds
3 tablespoons of natural peanut butter 
2 tablespoons of Natures Way Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon of organic honey or maple syrup
3 tablespoons of Natures Way Cacao

Reindeer Hay Stacks  

METHOD

1. Melt the peanut butter, coconut oil and honey in a pot. Once melted remove from heat. 
2. Crush up the wheetbix in a separate bowl. 
3. Mix in the cacao powder into the melted ingredients. 
4. Mix in the crushed wheetbix and the Chia seeds.
5. Prepare a piece of non stick proof paper on a tray. 
6. Spoon out about a tablespoon of the mixture into little hay stacks.
7. Freeze for one hour. 

 

NOTE

  • Enjoy straight from the freezer.
